Love & Kindness

Close your eyes or look away,
Perhaps tomorrow, but not today,
Far too many bills to pay,
It’s their own fault anyway,
They should not be here.

Sir, once I was the same as you,
I’d see them and I’d walk straight through,
Their drinking would disgust me too,
But that was all before I knew,
They were real people.

Politicians just don’t want to see,
They don’t vote so let them be,
A blight on our society,
So sir, it’s up to you and me,
To show them love and kindness.
